Animal Friends

  • Animal Friends has announced multi-year support to leading animal welfare charities Blue Cross, StreetVet and Born Free.
  • The new mission will see around £1 million annually invested in pet welfare, veterinary support, conservation and policy reform to create lasting change for animals everywhere.
  • In addition, Animal Friends has an ongoing emergency fund which will continue to provide urgent and crucial support to charities facing unforeseen circumstances.

  • Animal Friends, founded to make a difference for animals everywhere, has revealed a new mission to support their founding purpose of creating a better life for every animal.

Animal Friends has announced three key multi-year partnerships with leading animal-welfare charities Blue Cross, StreetVet and Born Free that will see £1 million invested annually into animal welfare activity to help support thousands of pets, pet owners and vulnerable wildlife both at home and abroad.

Through these partnerships, Animal Friends aims to create a powerful, long-term platform that elevates animal welfare across the UK and globally - ensuring wildlife receive the protection, care and advocacy they deserve. In addition to the three charity partnerships, Animal Friends’ dedicated emergency fund will continue to provide support and funds to charities facing urgent and unforeseen circumstances. As of January 2026, Animal Friends has donated over £10 million to animal welfare charities and conservancies worldwide.

Transforming lives of pets and owners

Animal Friends will work with Blue Cross, a charity that has supported sick, injured and homeless pets since 1897, to help fund and promote its dedicated Pet Loss Service. This partnership will support people struggling to cope with the loss of a much-loved pet, alongside a range of other vital core initiatives over the coming years. Together, they aim to support both pets and people in need, while reinforcing Animal Friends’ commitment to championing animal welfare.

    Proudly protecting the human-animal bond

StreetVet provides free accessible veterinary care for pets belonging to those experiencing homelessness. The partnership with Animal Friends will shine a light on the importance of the profound human–animal bond between pets and their owners navigating homelessness together, while supporting StreetVet’s work across outreach locations, clinical care within partner veterinary practices, hostel and day centre accreditation programmes and wider policy engagement.

    Keeping wildlife in the wild

Born Free provides vital work protecting wild animals, promoting ethical conservation and challenging the exploitation of wild animals. Animal Friends and Born Free will champion wildlife legislation and support programmes in regions including Ethiopia and Kenya.
